Setting up a my-PV heating element

All supported devices can be continuously regulated in their output. This means the output is dynamically and precisely adjusted to the currently available PV surplus, ensuring that as much self-generated solar power as possible is used and grid export is avoided.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that:

  1. Your my-PV device is connected to the internet.
  2. Your device is visible and accessible in the my-PV portal.

You will need two pieces of information from the portal: your serial number and your API key.

Step 1: Find the serial number

  1. Open the my-PV portal at https://live.my-pv.com and log in.
  2. Check the system bar — you will find your serial number in parentheses there, e.g., (12345678).
  3. Copy the serial number — you will need it in the app shortly.

Step 2: Check the software version

Before activating the API, ensure your device is up to date.

  1. Click the gear icon (⚙️) in the top right to open the settings.
  2. Expand the Advanced settings section.
  3. Scroll all the way down to Software version.
  4. Check if an update is available and perform it if necessary.

Step 3: Set the control type to "my-PV API"

  1. Go to the Control settings (also located in the settings).
  2. Set the Control type to: my-PV API

Step 4: Generate and copy the API key

  1. Navigate to the API section in the settings.
  2. Click Generate key.
  3. The API key will be displayed — copy it.

Step 5: Enter the serial number and API key in the app

  1. Open the app.
  2. Enter the following data in the setup dialog for my-PV:
    • Serial number (from Step 1)
    • API key (from Step 4)
  3. Save the settings — done, your my-PV system will be detected automatically!

Only for AC THOR / AC THOR 9s: Adjusting power values

If you have connected a smaller heating element than the maximum output of your device, you must enter the actual output:

AC THOR 9s 9,000 W your heating element is less than 9,000 W

In this case, enter the actual output of your heating element in the app so that the control functions correctly.

Note: For the ELWA 2, the output is fixed at 3,500 W and is already correctly configured. No adjustment is required here.
